Hi and welcome to Britrock!
As the name suggests, this is a UK-based Jem fansite devoted to the bad girls of 1980s cartoon rock and roll - the Misfits.
Britrock first began about 12 years ago now, and it's been a
while since it had an overall overhaul. Pizzazz's silhouette
has been the opener for the site for a long time, but I
decided it was time for a change of pace.
It is also the home of the Jem Encyclopaedia -
the first Jem site on the web to properly explore in detail
Mexican Jem dolls and the differences between UK and US
release first year dolls - and the Jem Doll Database,
a resource for people interested in minor variations. Here you
get to look at lots of mugshots of dolls side by side...if
that's your thing of course.
Though the site has had an update, the resources that made it unique years ago are still available here now. That includes a comprehensive lyric database (including lyrics to Mexican doll release songs in Spanish and French Canadian Promotional songs), and, of course, the Series In Depth - which contains in depth reviews of the characters and the episodes from a hyperanalytical fan anorak point of view.
This is also a shrine to my own collection, who I hope that
you'll take a moment to visit if you have the time. They don't
usually bite.
A new addition to the site is Misfit-stified,
which is Britrock's blog. I would love for people to come read
my babble and comment if they feel the inclination. I can't
promise it will all be sanity, but that's part of the fun of
it. Plus, any items I have for sale and trade will now
be listed in posts in the blog, so check regularly
for any updates in this regard. I no longer have time to sell
via HPJ, but if I have extra stuff, that's where you'll find
it.
Finally, I decided to have a bit of fun. True to Misfit form, Clash is hiding somewhere on the site with a nice selection of Jem's Hall of Shame...that is, IF you can find the link on this page. Surprise!;)
