1986: Play and Care Set/Beddy Bye Eye Baby Ponies
BABY RIBBON
Aqua blue baby unicorn pony with neon yellow mane and tail (red-orange streak in mane), painted white bow symbol.
Unlike Baby Gusty, Baby Ribbon was definitely a personality. Not so much, it's true, in the UK comic stories. There she was one of the baby ponies, without the dynamo of Baby Shady or Baby Lofty (ironically neither were sold here) to drive her on. But in the cartoon series, she is the adorable little critter who's so desperate to win at hide and seek she winks out and can't wink back in again - the first signal to the little ponies that something was definitely amiss in Ponyland!
BABY RIBBON (Beddy Bye Eye Version)
In North America and some parts of Europe and Australasia, she was sold as part of the year's gimmick - the Beddy Bye Eye Baby Pony set. Of course, technically, this is the Baby Ribbon who is characterised on the television show!
This version is much more common on the second hand market, though she was never sold in the United Kingdom at all.
Please note that the pictured Mint in Package pony is correct in box style and accessories for the UK, although her box is in French!
