1988: Sweetberry Ponies
CHERRY TREATS
White earth pony with bright cherry red mane and tail, blue bowl with cherries symbol. (Above: Made in China, no forelock)
This was my childhood Sweetberry pony, and boy did she smell strongly!
There is a variation with Cherry Treats. She can be made in Hong Kong or in China.
The one pictured above I bought new here in the UK, and she is made in China and has no forelock. The version without a forelock is more commonly found in Europe, including the UK.
Known Variation
CHERRY TREATS (HONG KONG)
The version made in Hong Kong has a forelock, and is more prone to discolouration as far as I can tell than the version made in China. She is more commonly found in North America.
Please note there is also a China made version of Cherry Treats with a forelock. She appears to be more commonly found in North America (thanks to Ashlyne for this information). She can also be prone to discolouration.
Tan or beige coloured Cherry Treats ponies are not a variation but are signs of discolouring and yellowing/aging of the plastic.
CHINA & HONG KONG PONIES: COMPARISON
It is easy to tell which version you have by checking the hooves. However, in comparing the two ponies, I noticed the following things:

There are no guarantees that all of these differences are consistent across all ponies from each location.
