1988: Sweetberry Ponies
RASPBERRY JAM
Raspberry pink earth pony with vivid green mane and tail, jar of jam and raspberries symbol. (Above pictured MADE IN CHINA)
I was always under the impression that what we call 'Jam' in the United Kingdom is called 'Jelly' in the United States. Raspberry Jam's symbol is a jam jar to me...but I really wonder why it is she has the name she does in the US and why it wasn't Raspberry Jam that had another name instead of Blackberry Pie :S
Either way, Raspberry Jam was sold universally :) And, completely predictably, she was often rather preoccupied with the making of jam!!
Although she was sold globally, there are some minor issue variations. Some are made in Hong Kong and some in China. It is more common to find a Hong Kong one in America and a China one in Europe. Aside from the hoof stamp, the Hong Kong ones have forelocks, where the China ones do not. There are also some variations on symbol print, though these may also vary between batches.

There also seem to be some variations even within Europe regarding this pony's accessories, as illustrated with the two MIP images shown. Not all releases seem to have had a ribbon and a brush included. The American releases had ribbons, and most language versions of this release echoed that, but not all of Europe did the same. I would love more information on whether that was the case as I need a greater research field to really judge if this is a variation or a single exception to the rule.
