Moonstone was the original unicorn of unicorns - in that she was the first unicorn (and perhaps the only one in UK pony lore ) to possess the magic of 'winking in and out' that every unicorn from Galaxy to Baby Ribbon tinkered with in the animated series. Moonstone was somewhat elusive in stories - her special power is mentioned in the fact File but she never made that many decisive comic appearances. She was also part of the Mail Order rerelease in the United States, as far as I am aware. Her accessories seem to have been the same the world over, aside from her later Germanic re-release (as can be seen below).
Moonstone was also sold as part of the German Rainbow Pony Set in around 1987. Here she was renamed MONDSCHEIN (Moonshine) and given a painted symbol instead of a glittering one. She is the only one out of the original Rainbow set to be featured in the German issue.
