Patch was the tomboy of the series, always getting into this or that scrap or mischief. She loved to play practical jokes and was keenly involved in sports, including the football team that was predominately governed by her male classmates. Patch never liked girly dressing up, but was always happy to play her part in gossiping with her friends. She had a yearning for adventure, and believed in all kinds of things beyond the obvious, such as ghosts and, of course, the Glowing Magic Ponies who she believed she met while flying in a run-away hot air balloon.

(Patch also met with the Glowing Magic ponies in one of the comic editions, too).
