1990:

THE SHOW STABLE
aka
HOME SWEET HOME

It barely seemed to have been three years (maybe in fact it wasn't!) since the original Show Stable had been on our shelves, but Hasbro decided that it was worth givng it a complete revamp in 1990. Though this playset was released in both the UK and the North American market, there were marked differences that set each release apart from one another.

In the United Kingdom, as can be seen from the above insert picture, the stable was redecorated in pinks and the accessories were given an aqua and yellow makeover. Although it is hard to tell from the insert picture, the walls were now a pale pinkish and the roof a deep magenta.- Yet in terms of identity, the Show Stable was still the Show Stable. There was even a rerelease of Lemon Drop (now made in China) to go with it, and the sign over the door read 'Show Stable' also. I believe this was also true for continental Europe (though likely the name was translated).

LEMON DROP (MADE IN CHINA)

In North America, however, the stable was re-released with the name 'Home Sweet Home' and it did not come with a re-release of Lemon Drop. That probably makes Chinese Lemon Drop a European release pony. She is a slightly bolder yellow than the Hong Kong Lemon Drop, with strongly lavender drops on her symbol. She is a lot less common than the Hong Kong version, since many kids bought the original playset (I suppose), and the second version of the stable is also rarer.

As I understand it, however, the basic accessories for Home Sweet Home and the second edition Stable were the same in terms of colour and design.

Some of these accessories were also released with Rosette, the Prize Day Pony.
