1991: Secret Surprise Ponies
SPANGLING SECRET
White earth pony with dark pink mane and tail, aqua, pink and lavender plastic cape with hearts and lace pattern
As a kid, I always thought that Spangling Secret was a really weird name, and so I tended to call her "Spangles" most of the time. She is shown in the photo above with her original key on its original gold elastic, which was designed to keep pony and key safely together. (This seems to have worked quite well, since the two Secret Surprise Ponies we got second hand both came with their original keys around their necks!)
Spangling Secret was a "heart" Secret Surprise Pony, in that the white in her eye was a heart shape (you can see this in the picture) and her cape had a heart design. She came with a gold ring, not unlike that belonging to Wedding Bells Confetti.
In North America, Spangling Secret was called Pretty Puff.
Spangling Secret's backcard story relates to a secret pact she has with fairies, lending them her treasure so they can fly to the sky like stars. The story mentions her keeping BOTH a ring and a bracelet under her cape - but these ponies only ever came with one or the other.
