1988: Twice as Fancy Ponies

YUM YUM

White pegasus pony with pale pink mane and tail, red, pink and purple assortment of sweets symbol spread across her back and haunches, red sweet on her cheek.

If you didn't think this name was crazy enough when applied to a Birthday Party set Flutter Pony in 1986, Hasbro decided it would be a good choice again in 1988 for one of their new Twice as Fancy characters. What exactly 'Yum Yum' was meant to get across I'm not quite sure - her symbol is sweets, but unless you're intended to eat the pony, I'm not sure that can count as being 'yummy'. Honestly? I think someone ran out of inspiration in time for the production deadline.

Either way, the poor thing is stuck with it.

Yum Yum is one of those ponies with pale pink mane and tail that easily fades to white. It is more common to see her on the second-hand market with white hair - but this has always been faded out by sunlight and is not a variation.

She was never sold in the UK.
