1990: Glittering Sweetheart Sister Ponies

STARFLASH

Pale blue sweetheart sister style pony with lavender mane and tail rooted with dark pinkish tinsel. Glittering purple hearts design, pink floral earring.

Starflash was something of an enigma in many ways. Fairly often she was depicted in the UK Pony Comic with a white body and dark pink hair, although she was never in fact sold in these colours.

The general belief is that - since the comic artists generally worked from prototype pictures - Starflash's prototype must have been badly photographed to give such mistaken colours.

The stories for these ponies followed the way in which they became glittery and got their names, rather like the Sparkle Ponies. I don't know how the story compares with the US version, but the story from Starflash's box is below:
