1986: Pretty and Pearly Baby Sea Ponies

Sunshower was another of the new characters introduced to the Sea Pony line this year. She was sold in both North America and the UK, but her pose differed between countries - UK version above (from my childhood, so I'm sure on this, LOL) and North American version shown below. The float seems to have been the same between the two sets, however, which seems to have been true of all the alternate pose baby sea ponies.

Sunshower did not really have an emphatic comic character that I can remember, but the Fact File hints at a possible trick that she had - she threw water splashes into the sky for the sun to 'change into a shower of rainbow coloured drops.'

Sunshower was only sold in the new looking up pose in the North American set. This version of the set were also sold on translated US style cards in Belgium and Holland. It's hard to see her ribbon behind the sticker, but it looks as though her accessories are the same (except for the type of sticker). Please note my Sunshower below has the wrong sticker!
