sotsugyou M: the seiyuu
Okiayu Ryoutarou (whose poor name is often badly abused by the transliterating people both in Japan and in English speaking lands) is another seiyuu heavily involved in the neoromance scene, having been the voice of Akuram and then Hakuryuu in the HaruToki series of games and animated series/OVAs.
Consequently he has made appearances at Neoromance events, dating back as early as 2004 but more recently has appeared in several of the Harukanaru Toki no Naka De festival events, including the one held in January 2011. He was also scheduled to appear at the Festa that was postponed due to the devastating earthquake that hit North East Japan and was one of the seiyuu on site in Yokohama updating people on the situation there via his twitter account.
.
Okiayu-san both sings and participates in dramas at these events, and it is not uncommon for him to get very much into role. The above right picture shows him at Haruka Matsuri 2008 performing "Banshou no Mamoribito" in the guise of Hakuryuu. He also appeared dressed as Akuram in an episode of the Cosplay focused television series "CosCosPlayPlay", complete with mask and blond wig!
Okiayu-san released a handful of solo music CDs in the 1990s aside from his involvement with EMU and has recorded many character songs for various anime series over the past two decades. He has a distinctive and very beautiful voice which has attracted fans to his work in many fandoms. He is close friends with both Midorikawa-san and fellow seiyuu Kusonoki Taiten.
He has also voiced such well known characters as Shigure from Fruits Basket, Byakuya from Bleach, K from Gravitation and a whole bevy of others. As Byakuya, he released a cover version of one of the Bleach series themes, Sen no Yoru o Koete with Abarai Renji voice artist Itou Kentarou.
He did the voice of Nakago on the Fushigi Yuugi drama CDs and also played parts in Marginal Prince and Prince of Tennis, as well as the secondary role Kou Kurou in Saiunkoku Monogatari
