1987: Flutter Ponies
TROPICAL BREEZE
Blue flutter pony with red mane and tail, pinkish purple flamingo symbol, irridescent wings (often missing).
I spent most of my childhood trying to work out what the heck it was Tropical Breeze had as a symbol :S When you're five years old and trying to figure out what a purplish blob has to do with tropical breezes, it can be quite confusing. But I digress.
Needless to say the above pictured pony is not my childhood pony ;)
Tropical Breeze, as I remember her, was a fairly sensible flutter, who was always willing to help out if she was needed. There was nothing remarkable about her, exactly, but she was a "nice" character. Though Flutter Ponies lived in Flutter Valley, they were not reticent or shy in the way that they were in the animated series, and would often be involved in stories with non-flutter ponies. PLENTY of integration in the pony comic world!
As with the first set, all these ponies had "poems" (if they can be called that) as backcard stories. These are also repeated in the fact file. Tropical Breeze's was as follows:
"Flutter Ponies bring good luck,
No matter what life brings,
And when you need a helping hand,
Tropical Breeze flutters her wings."
This also appeared on the side flap of her box, on a "scroll"

My Mint in Box Tropical Breeze is from France and her box design is the same as the UK box, but she has no sticker. This may be on account of them having to translate and reprint the sticker with the correct name on it for the French market. My UK one as a child had a sticker, which I still have (pictured below):

Flutters came with puffy stickers only in the UK in 1987.
